Culture Sharing Night

Our mission is to create a relationship between all cultures and communities, and that’s why this event was so special for us.

Date: June 5, 2020

Where: Wonder Studio

We gathered in our studio and brought together people from Korea, Canada, U.S.A, Indonesia, Uzbekistan, Philippines, and more. We divided participants into groups based on their “passports” and had stations and tasks for all groups to complete. From having to recite your national anthem, to having to pin a dart on your country blindfolded, to guessing capital cities, to more serious conversations about stereotypes and experiences traveling, it was a great opportunity for learning and connection. We then did a “show and tell,” where we had each person bring an item that represented their home country and explain the importance behind it. From the all mighty Canadian Caesar, to Korean army uniforms, Jamaican dresses, photos from Greece, and a presentation on kok-boru, a form of polo with goat carcassas, again our participants were able to learn and really open up their world to other people. We were proud to have a Korean cable TV film crew there alongside us, to bring attention to the importance of multiculturalism in Korea.
