Stay safe and adopt digital payment methods and online bookings during the COVID-19 outbreak

South Korea has been praised all over the world for its efficient and effective system of flattening the COVID-19 curve. But over the past month, an alarming surge in cases have been confirmed due to a variety of causes: lax social distancing among citizens due to loosened measures, religious and social gatherings, and the long holiday which saw an exodus of people to popular local destinations.
The Korea Herald reported that sporadic COVID-19 outbreaks continue to occur across the country, with new clusters of infections affecting establishments as diverse as restaurants, hospitals, fitness centers and churches.
Korea has begun its move to enforce social distancing and online transactions/meetings. For online transactions, there are a number of reasons why this can prove to be beneficial in preventing the transmission of the virus:

Contactless payments
Perception of cash as a vehicle for coronavirus could change how consumers choose to pay in person. Analysts say there is a “psychological factor” of people thinking of cash as “unclean” (CNBC)
In an international survey cited in the report, close to three-quarters of respondents found that contactless was a cleaner way to pay. Nearly 50% of global shoppers were using digital payments more than before the pandemic, and the majority plan continues doing so after the virus is contained. According to a report issued by the Bank of Korea, major e-commercial platforms here saw their sales climb in the January-February period this year: COUPANG, e-Bay Korea, among others.
