With the iWonderKorea tour, we felt that it was important to see the area through the lens of a native, to bridge gaps of language barriers, and use our connections to help others try something new.

Date: June 6, 2020
Where: Jeonju Hanok Village
The Hanok Village is a top destination for tourists who visit Jeonju. On most days, it is filled with crowds of people looking to experience Korean culture in one of the most traditional parts of the country. Our founder, Jin, was born and raised in Jeonju, but hadn’t revisited this area in quite some time, so he was looking forward to taking people throughout the village. Whether you are from or new to Jeonju, odds are this is one of the first places you visited, so unsurprisingly, all of our participants had already seen most of the attractions. However, with the iWonderKorea tour, we felt that it was important to see the area through the lense of a native, to bridge gaps of language barriers, and use our connections to help others try something new. We were able to visit many of the tourist attractions, and with Jin translating, it was a much more engaging experience for everyone. We were also able to speak with shop owners and get a better understanding of the life and business cycle of operating out of the Hanok Village. We then took everyone to an unveiling of the new robot museum, where our company was granted exclusive access. No tour is complete without games, photos, and prizes. Our participants were engaging in mini-tasks throughout the day testing their knowledge, language skills, and bravery, resulting in winning some super awesome prizes. It was a great day and something we hope to continue to do in Jeonju and throughout Korea.
