October 2019: 2nd Jeonju International Yard Fair

We shared the last days of Fall with the community with our second International Yard Fair in Jeonju. 가을의 마지막 날들을 전주에서 열린 제2회 국제야드박람회와 함께 지역사회와 함께 나누었습니다.

Last November 2019, we hosted a flea market event at the Jeonju Train Station Park, which brought together people from all over the world. Our goal was to create a platform that will have a combination of community gathering, shopping, food, and entertainment, and to integrate foreign and local communities in one shared cultural space.

지난 2019년 11월 전주 기차역 공원에서 전 세계 사람들이 모인 벼룩시장 행사를 진행했습니다. 우리의 목표는 공동체 모임, 쇼핑, 음식, 오락 등이 어우러지는 플랫폼을 만들고, 외국과 지역 공동체를 하나의 공유 문화 공간에 통합하는 것입니다.

“We wanted to create that yard fair atmosphere but with a worthy cause—all clothes, books, and other secondhand items that are in good condition will be donated to charity. We also wanted to create a space for the expat community in Jeonju to share their home specialties, recipes, and handmade goods that they used to make in their home countries.”

“우리는 공정한 마당을 만들고 싶었지만, 훌륭한 명분을 가지고, 좋은 상태에 있는 모든 옷, 책, 그리고 다른 중고 물품들은 자선단체에 기부될 것입니다. 또한 전주지역 엑스포트 커뮤니티가 본국에서 만들던 가정특산물과 레시피, 수제용품 등을 공유할 수 있는 공간도 만들고 싶었습니다.”

“When we saw that the community just enjoyed and missed networking with different people—especially connecting with fellow expats in Jeonju—we decided to make this a regular thing but bigger and better. We want everyone to have a sense of community and togetherness.”
